What's the difference between a fake and a real Rolex watch?

I'm thinking of getting a fake Rolex that I can wear outside everyday. What's the difference. How good are fake Rolexes compared to other watches?|||The real one is gold, the fake isn't so the real one is heavier. The best way to tell, however, is the rolex second hand moves smoothly around the face. Fake ones tick and are not smooth. Other than that, they look the same, but the fake one will only look real from a distance for a short period of time until the gold paint starts to wear.|||A fake Rolex will only last about a week before they break and you trash them, a real one will last a life time.

I think what you want to know, is , how can you tell the difference, and frankly, some fakes are hard to tell. If you are looking for a good watch, there are many without the price tag of a Rolex, and if you are looking for "status"...... It doesn't take a Rolex..... There are others with the same" prestige" without the "tag. So what are you looking for? Timex is a good watch and reliable, but I doubt you care, you would rather it look good, regardless of the "time". I have lots of friends with lots of money, and what watch they wear is of no significance. Good luck....|||The difference is about $10,000. Seriously, there are many signs that a jeweler can look at to see if it authentic, but most people are not jewelers. One easy to spot difference is the motion of the second hand. On Rolex's, the hands has a sweeping motion and not a ticking motion. If your fake does that, then it will fool most people.
